    PREVENTING CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING

    • Service all heating systems and all gas-, oil- or coal-burning appliances by a technician annually.

    • Install a battery-operated and electric-powered carbon monoxide detector in your home and check or replace the battery when you change the time on your clocks each spring and fall. If the detector sounds, leave your home immediately and call 911.

    • Contact a doctor if you believe you have carbon monoxide poisoning.

    • Do not use gas-powered devices such as a generator, grill or stove inside your home, basement or near a near a window or door. Generators should be operated more than 15 feet from the home.

    • Do not run any gas-powered motor inside a closed structure, such as a garage.

    • Do not heat a home with a gas oven.

IBEW Local Union 21 mourns the loss of our Brother Scott Kurinec who recently retired from AT&T.  Scott was an IBEW Local 21 Union Steward and friend to many. He will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott's family and friends Given the current circumstances with the pandemic, Scott’s family hopes to plan a proper memorial this spring. They wouldn’t be able to host a proper memorial service representative of their “life of the party” Dad. He just had too many friends!

Fidelity Pension Misinformation- AT&T Employees 65 and Over
11/13/20 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
NOTE: This message only applies to AT&T employees age 65 and over. While investigating concerns raised by members IBEW 21 has found that Fidelity is advising employees age 65 and over, who either retired or are retiring this year, that they are not eligible to defer their pension payment date (aka Benefit Commencement Date) to next year. This is incorrect. Although the AT&T/Warner Media Pension Benefit Plan generally states that you may elect to start receiving your pension benefit as soon as your retirement date (aka Termination of Employment date) or the first (1st) day of any month following your retirement date and before reaching age 65 (aka Normal Retirement Age), the bargained Midwest Program portion of the AT&T/Warner Media Pension Plan has a Deferred Lump Sum option, which supersedes the general language of the Plan.
