FARMINGTON HILLS — A kitchen fire has closed a local restaurant. The Farmington Hills Fire Department responded at about 6:45 p.m. April 29 to a fire at The Brass Pointe BBQ, 24234 Orchard Lake Road, said Fire Chief Jon Unruh. Unruh said the fire began in the kitchen at the restaurant north of 10 Mile Road before spreading to part of the building's attic.

PLYMOUTH TWP. — With the Plymouth Township Board deeply divided on whether or not to build a new fire station, trustees voted Tuesday to study the issue before deciding the future of the township’s Station No. 2. Supervisor Kurt Heise said he is in favor of replacing the structure at 41212 Wilcox Road. “Fire Station No. 2 is going to be 50 years old,” Heise said.

Northville and Plymouth officials have separately agreed to move forward with a study that could lead to a new long-term agreement to keep in place the cities' combined fire department.

Livonia Fire & Rescue is pleased to announce that applications are once again being accepted for the position of Fire Cadet.

The Livonia Firefighters Union held a Fire Ops 101 event that was designed to give City officials and other VIP's the chance to be a Livonia Firefighter for a day. We designed scenarios for each attendee to get a glimpse of what it entails to be a career firefighter/paramedic. Each participant learned what happens on the scene of a cardiac arrest.
